Abstract

This article studies the history of the Matamoros trading port, the presence of domestic and maritime foreign trading companies. Reconstruct the home market in frontier towns and northeast of Mexico especially Monterrey and others villages as Monclova, Saltillo, Zacatecas and San Luis Potosi. Trading companies in the port of Matamoros established commercial links with Europeans ports, La Havana, and the East coast of United States, particularly with New Orleans, Boston and New York.
