Abstract

We offer in this paper new evidences which proves that Spaniards took part in the economic development of Mexico, at least, in the beginning of the 20th century. Far from the old paradigm which insisted in their negligence, Spanish immigrants formed in City of Mexico meritorious industrial companies as well as other firms related which financial services, transport and farming. Nevertheless, only a few members of the Spanish community became businessmen. We cannot speak at all about a privileged migration since most of the Spaniards living in Mexico were wage earned.
