Abstract

This article analyzes the structural history of Argentine manufacturing sector in the period 1976-1983, under the refounding project promoted by the military dictatorship and its bases of support in civil society. Specifically, it investigates the behavior of a number of relevant variables in order to sketch the character both regressive and heterogeneity of the acute economic and industrial restructuring verified in those years.

Investigador del Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas y docente de la Universidad de Buenos Aires. Es autor de numerosos estudios sobre el proceso de industrialización en Argentina, en especial a partir de la década de 1970. Entre sus principales contribuciones destacan Hecho en Argentina. Industria y economía, 1976-2007, Buenos Aires, Siglo XXI Editores, 2010, 304 pp., e Industria y nación, Buenos Aires, Edhasa, 2004, 368 pp.
