La colonización agrícola en Argentina, 1850-1900: problemas y desafíos de un complejo proceso de cambio productivo en Santa Fe y Entre Ríos
Main Article Content
Abstract
In this article is studied the evolution and characteristics of the agricultural colonization processes in Santa Fe and Entre Ríos, two emblematic provinces of Argentina during the second half of the nineteenth century. We propose a new periodization based on the changes in the strategies that were adopted during the process, and studied the problems experienced in each of those provinces, seeking to explain the reasons for the rapid development of Santa Fe and the delays of Entre Ríos. The result emphasizes the importance of the availability of capital and cheap land to provide competitiveness to the developments in a rapidly changing economy.
