Abstract

This work elucidates around the impact of the banking sector on Chilean productive activities. The essay proves that, considering the capital flow, the impact of banks on productive sectors was minimal. The effect in terms of distortions introduced by these activities was, however, enormous. In this sense, the main distortion was the reproduction of financial capital in opposition to the reproduction of productive capital.
